We are approaching the most important decision point for the HRS project. The Board of Regents will take up the issue of approval of the project implementation at its meeting in Whitewater on September 10th and 11th. Before we reach that decision, I want to take this opportunity to provide a bit of perspective about where we find ourselves.
We’ve been engaged in planning for over a year. But more important than that, we’ve been engaged in team building…and we have built a great team. And I don’t mean just the very talented project team at 21 N. Park. The team extends to every campus, to the Decision Council, the Steering Committee, the Service Center Executive Committee, the Common Systems Review Group, and the leadership at UW System Administration. Across the University of Wisconsin institutions and across all the functional areas we share a common vision that this project is necessary and that we will successfully complete it.
We have great partners in Team Huron and UW-Madison’s DoIT. We’ve got a great leadership team on the project. We’ve put together a solid project plan, with a well defined scope, budget and timeline. It’s ambitious but we can and will do it.
I am especially grateful to President Reilly and Senior Vice President Anderes for their commitment and leadership to help make all the rest of us successful.
From my perspective everyone associated with this project is giving their best efforts…everyone is “all in” and that’s the very best you can say about any human endeavor.
