The HRS Implementation Project is now in its 3rd month!  From my perspective, it’s going very well.  Of course there are always lots of challenges.  I think we’re dealing with those challenges in productive ways.  For example, we’re working hard to procure more space for the project team.  Even though it seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time, we understand the process and have sensitized those who have the responsibilities to follow policy and statute in helping us procure space to move this along as quickly as possible.  We are nearly there.

We’ve had very productive Decision Council, Steering Committee, and Service Center Executive Committee meetings over the past two weeks.  Among other things, we are discussing help desk issues and a new reporting template for the Steering Committee, senior executives and the Board of Regents.  We will have that template done by the time the Regents meet on December 10th.

The Working Group on what we originally called “shadow systems” and are now calling “local systems” has met several times and is making progress on defining the differences between supplemental systems that will still have business value and may therefore be retained after HRS go-live, and “absorbable systems” that will need to be decommissioned.  We expect to have a decommissioning process in place by the time campus staffs understand the PeopleSoft functionality well enough to make a reasoned analysis about which of their local systems have become redundant.

If you have any questions or concerns about the project please email me at emeachen@uwsa.edu.  I will try to answer them or refer you to someone who can answer them.
